Australia will sell Uranium to China after a deal signed today.
China says that they will use the fuel for peaceful purposes.

And let's hope they have somewhere to put the waste and let's hope that the huge spike in production won't cause massive contamination of tailings dams like production in the '50's and 60's did.


Previously Australia has said if a deal was struck, up to 10,000 tonnes of uranium could be exported to China every year

That's about the total current production of uranium in Oz. So China wants that much yellowcake for themselves. That's a lot of energy and a lot of potential waste. Where are they going to put it?

With demand like that, Labor's three mines policy seems done for. No wonder Hawkie was touting for nuclear waste storage in the outback.

Yes your are right there would be alot of waste. But at the end of the day i think that the money from China is what the Goverment is after.Lets hope they have a good waste plan in place
