Displaying a welfare mentality rather than a survival mentality, the Gazans are demanding to be compensated
before they are willing to
slaughter birds infected with the H5N1 influenza.
"The farmers are not letting us into their coops. They don't want to kill their chickens and are demanding compensation," Azzam Tbeileh, the
deputy Palestinian agriculture minister, told AFP.
So, considering the PA has trained many more cops than was agreed upon, and considering they are much greater-armed than they were supposed to be,
you'd think that they would be able to handle this clear state of emergency force their way to the ill birds and destroy them, right? So, why don't
they? Because, this is a perfect chance for extortion by the handout-minded PA:
The World Health Organisation (WHO) urged international donors on Saturday to provide urgent aid to the Palestinian Authority to contain the
outbreak in the Gaza Strip.
So, the region's poultry should be endangered because the Gazans refuse to do the right thing and slaughter their birds? They demand payment before
they kill the birds, as if allowing the birds to die of flu while passing it on to the rest of the birds is a better financial deal?
