I have never found you to be ego driven, quite the opposite in fact. You are right looks though should not matter, though often they do, you're still a bonny lad though and I see no harm in saying so. It is just genetics after all nothing within our control.

Helen, Dead Flag Blues expressed very well what I meant.

The look projected in your face and eyes indicate to me that you have overcome much and most likely don't take any crap.

I meant strong in character, not physical strength. I meant it as a compliment. In this world where so many women are people pleasers it is an accomplishment to project strenght of character.
