..... if you say so go do the math and remember the ice over water lowers the amount and remember that there is land under the ice also remember that ice is less dense than water so go do the math and some research and come back and give me a ball park b/c there sure is not 1000' worth of rise

On the west coast, Los Angeles and Orange Counties are not going away from flooding because most of the land mass is over the 150' foot elevation. So you can all relax as Hollywood will continue to churn out entertainment for you even after the "flood".

Teh maps seem unrealistic, especially since they have low, yet landlocked, elevations flooded. The ocean isn't going to jump over high land to flood low land.

Also, as far as it being a 'revolutionary idea', its definitly not. There have been times in the past, and this has been known for a long while, where there were no global ice caps and the land was flooded in extreme ways.

Here's a map of the earth during the cretaceous period, for example:

Be sure to account for isostacy.

When the ice on the caps melts... the poles rise as the weight (ice) is removed.

As the poles rise the equator sucks in like a fat man when a cute girl walks by.

It is not about the amount of water in the ice. It is about the net global effect.

The most extreme flooding will be closest to the equator. I am of the opinion that 100-300 meter "flooding" is possible upon complete evacuation of polar ice in equatorial regions...

I am also of the opinion that the effect will be cataclyism rather than gradualism. It will begin with loss of the Ross Sea ice shelf, then massive global quake activity to re-adjust for that change in polar mass. The quake activity will break the rest of the polar ice.

Splish... splosh... icesheets in the ocean

Mother earth bulges at the poles... sucks in her gut... and the fools slathered with coppertone at the beach chit-chatting on cell phones won't even see it coming.

When the powers of darkness have grown strong, the wise man retreats.

Headin' to the hinterlands,

So it might be possible for the effects of isostasy to create land where land was not before.

But will it be Isostasy or Eustasy? See wikipedia explanation of Isostasy

Hang on things might be looking up for the Maussan video maps. lol

IMO This man is one of the best ufologists of all time, not only does he present clear and concise information he adds a plausible scientific view of life itself. His lectures are fantastic. Great post OP
