In the Mediterranean

I've heard from different places that Atlantis is what was once known as The Garden of Eden. These two are synonymous with eachother. The Garden of Eden is located in the Mediterranean Sea near the island of Crete. The island of Crete is the top of what used to be a mountain in the Garden.

Intriguing and, to be fair, I've not read his book. However I'm not aware of any geological evidence for modern day Cyprus to be the remant of a much larger island that became submerged in recent geological times.

The Mediterranean Sea did not always exist, it was a great basin that was flooded when an earthquake hit the Western join (Horn of Africa?) between Africa and Europe. There are apparently over 100 archaeological sites under the Meditteranean Sea.

Any archaeological sites under the Med are either shipwrecks or coastal ruins that sank into the sea through subsumtion (the area is exremely active geologically) or through the actions of earthquakes or tsunamis. No archaeological sites exist that predate the flood that filled the Med. 4.5 million years ago, before the genus Homo appeared.

I always thought the Horn of Africa referred to the southern tip where the country of South Africa is today. Sailing 'round the horn' meant getting thru the Atlantic to the other side, on the way to the East Indies.

Besides, the Bible, where the garden eve is mentioned, says the garden lies at the confluence of the tigris and euphrates...
