I don't know why I didn't think of this earlier, but in my old U2Us I've gotten applause from a Council Member and an FSME.

CM = 250 and FSME = 500 according to the U2Us.

I was just wondering about this myself last night. I just got an applause and my point total stayed the same. I just figured there was a delay in updating or something.

Yay!! I am so observant... Well, it is just because I have recently started and have so few points that every point counts.

Erm. It's not just that loam. You're not doing it right at all, according to graffiti on the ATS ladies wall. Seeing as you brought it up first.
