The C-130 is a turboprop, so it uses a jet engine to turn the propellor. It always leaves a light brown trail behind it that you can see. I have some pics of them, but they aren't on this computer so I can't put them up until I get mine fixed.
Edit to add links. It's not easy to see, but if you look closely you'll see the smoke trail in these pics.
