I was doing some reading on hat sauce on the internet since it is something I eat quit a bit of. I knew it speeds up your metabolism. So I checked to see if there were any other health benifits.

These web sites list a whole bunch of them:
www.hotsauceandsalsa.com...
pyropepper.com...
www.suziehotsauce.com...

Some are not from hot sauce but from stuff like capsaicin creams and mixes. Some of the benifits that kinda suprised me that capsaicin can cause prostate cancer cells to kill themselves, that a compound in salsa can kill salmonella, and that is can help protect against ulcers.

I love hot peppers. I eat pepper with everything, the hotter the better, my granny loves it too, if she isn't sniffling, she isn't happy. Glad to know there are benefits other than singed tastebuds.

moving over to Health and Wellness btw...

I hear you Dr Love. What I like best about the Hot Chinese mustard is that it doesn't linger as other Hot Sauce-types do. Searing, sinus-opening heat, but then it's gone.

Some good hard pretzels and a few chunks of a very sharp cheddar ... mmmMMmm

Going to raid the fridge now .... :shk:

I have long waxed on about the health benefits (and simple deliciousness) of hot foods. Living in the southwest for most on my life, I have had plenty of opportunity to taste many hot peppers. And the hotter, the better!

My first encounter with chipotle pepper was that I added a handfull of them to a pot of chili. We had company. While it cooked, we all broke out in tears!

It was delicious, though!

My husband (Landis) and I are Japanese food fans. We love wasabi for the same reasons y'all love peppers, etc. Clears out the sinuses damn fast.

I love hot sauce on hamburgers and hot peppers on pizza. I agree that the hotter the better. I could just drink hot sauce :w: lol. I put the stuff on everything!
