Gary Berntsen, the former senior CIA operative who led the search for Osama bin Laden in Afghanistan in late 2001, believes the United States has the ability to easily destroy Iran's nuclear facilities. He said the US could use bunker-buster bombs and other weapons to carry out the operation.
"We can take care of it in a couple of days with air strikes and they wouldn't be able to stop us," he added. "It wouldn't be difficult to plan. They'd be some dangers but I think the United States can do it." Berntsen, who left the CIA in June last year after more than 20 years of service, believes it will be difficult to persuade Iran to stop its nuclear program.
"I know the Iranians. I've worked against the Iranians for years. They are determined to get this no matter what, and they will lie and cheat and do whatever they have to do to get themselves a weapon," he said.

I say let the Iranians do as they please and let the Israelis solve the problem and then suppor the Israelies in the aftermath.

Listen, these people do not want a 2 day war. How many 2 day wars have there been in the history of the United States? They will force the issue somehow and it will be another long bloody war.

UNITED NATIONS (Reuters) - Russia, backed by China, blocked agreement on Monday on a U.N. Security Council statement aimed at quashing Iran's nuclear ambitions despite a ministerial meeting on Tehran's atomic programs, diplomats reported.
Senior foreign affairs officials from Germany and the five veto-holding Security Council members -- the United States, Britain, France, Russia and China -- met for more than four hours to discuss strategy on how to handle Iran.
Their U.N. ambassadors joined them for talks on a draft statement the Security Council has been unable to issue for nearly two weeks telling Iran to stop uranium-enrichment efforts the West believes are a cover for bomb making.

My take is let Iran rattle its sabers for attention as long as it wants. By actively trying to stop them you give them an out with there own people.

I really don't think members of ATS are able to make that call. I may be wrong though. I've only been a mod for a week now and I haven't seen any buttons that say, "Launch attack against Iran."
I'll check with the admin though and get back with you. I may just be overlooking it.
