Yes, it is taken from ProphetofDoom, which has been publically made a laughing stock on many occasions.

Instead of using Website's buy a copy of the Qu'ran and read it! None of those quotes were in it, how you posted them. Thus your information is wrong, thus it is false.

Evidently, you're posting about a Culture and Religion you do not even know the basics of. Educate yourself on them rather than living in the Dark Ages.

i HATE to say it...
whether it is from a religious egocentric point of view, or just thru shear ignorance, i dont see much education occuring.

rather it seems that sentinel is just using this forum to bait, and try to start some sort of religious conflict.
Well this muslim, jew, Christian, and "druid damn hippy" aint buying

start posting real info sentinel, that can be commented upon, rather than laughed at...
you have at least one muslim, and one person with a very good understanding of islam to bounce your crazy theories off,
You have an excellent chance to truly enlighten yourself, if you can look past your own nose...
so go ahead, knock yourself out with wacky posts.

Funny thing is, if you actually would read the Koran, you might actually find a verse or two that IS controversial (as the half dozen or so in the bible)

Exactly.

the_sentinal, if you really want to start a controversy, use the link I provided earlier and scan through it, if you'd rather not obtain a copy of the Qur'an. At least if you quote from that source, which holds a legitimate copy of the Qur'an and three different translations, your posts would have more substance to it.

You know what? Here. Let me give you the link again:

www.usc.edu...

You have a legitimate topic here, with possibilities for discussion, but the content of your posts so far are somewhat lacking.

At this rate we must prepare for the next european inquisition. I think we can call it the final inquisition, because that's where this seems to be heading.

Here is a blog with a direct response to 'Can Muslims be Good Americans'.

agoodamerican.blogspot.com... (the author gives permission to share it)

Read it all the way through, it starts off quite satirically but does a good job pointing out the nonsensical nature of the anti-muslim post.

If nothing else, it is another way of looking at things.

the real question is:
can Hypocritical, ignorant, closed minded "supposed" Christians, be good Americans?
answer:

For the Sentinel:
just for Future Reference
If it is inflamatory, and arrives in your E-mail box... and you didn't want it sent...
it is called SPAM...
and routinely it is mostly lies and propaganda, used for someone elses agenda...
it just makes the person sending it look bad and ruins their reputation.

If you come to a board like this, and post it as fact...
well, then...
Doesn't improve the message, just exposes it to better debunkers...

And? So sale's now make something truthful? Damn this World is worse off than I suspected.

You also might desire to learn, Islam is the fastest growing Religion in the World. So that whole book think will shift, in a couple of decades. Then what?

Personally I think that Muslims can be good American citizens. It's just people like some "Christians" and politicians that give them a bad name. Certainly there are some bad Muslims out there, that's one reason why Islam is given a bad name. In other cases, it's some of the leaders of Islam that give it a bad name. In some other cases, it's our so called leaders that give them a bad name.

We have a little store/mart just down the road from me that is owned by a Muslim family. That store has been a staple of this area for years. I've been to that store many a times and the people that work there are very friendly to me and their other customers. Try to look at it this way, does it really make a person lok bad if their name is Mohammed or something else??? I most certainly think not!!!

Hey sentinel...

What you do to the least of my brothers, you do to me!"
I prefer to treat, and respect everyone the way i want to be treated...

If I didn't, I would be wrong in Gods eyes...

If i did, and the person I respected/treated, turned an unkind response...
well, now... since i did as God commanded, then that is very much there problem now isn't it?

it is called humility and Sacrifice... and Jesus gave plenty of both... he only asked that we try to do the same

You win converts by the spirit you give, not the sword you swing...
that is where justice will prevail, and the truthful religions will be separated from the Chaff...

Judgement is mine, sayeth the Lord so lets keep our noses out of the supreme counselors business, shall we...

I have worked and engaged in conversation many, many Muslims of differing degrees of fundamentals and found all to be good citizens and ostensibly peaceful individuals who just want the "American Dream". Where I see a problem is here. Islam is not compatable with Christianity. In this country, we hold to various forms of Christian beliefs- some more so than others. This is where the disconnect comes and is like a bridge a bit too short over the lake when it comes to the gap between the two.
I do not think Muslims integrate well here and are homogenous communally. Unlike pure cultural conditions which can be overcome over years, theocratic thought cannot be changed as so. My own community is testament to this. Friction is a by-product of the theological and cultural differences that emerge.

I'll be up-front: I don't like Islam, it's a false religion.

That having been said, I don't see why a Muslim can't be a good American.

Now take Catholicism: A Catholic is technically a citizen of two countries: the country of their birth and the Vatican. And their "Catholic" citizenship trumps, say, their American citizenship.

So can a Catholic be a good American? Sure, if they put America first!

hey, sentinal,
the type of muslims you speak(type:puz
about have a name. it is 'muslim extremists'. calling them average or good muslims is akin to saying da K.K.K. is a good/average christian group.
do you believe that orthodox jews are un-american, as they have a spiritual attachment in isreal?

well i have a confession to make i posted this thread as a test to see where most people stood on this subject . i'm new to this site and decided to use a source that was on the suface what i thought i agreed with ....

i tried to defend an undefendable position seeing that it is possible that a muslim can be a good american as so many have pointed out throughout this thread i admit at this time that i was wrong on many points.

the outside source i used was well meaning but very offensive to some as it conveyed a hateful spirit i didnt notice untill posting his ideas here.

but i still happen to believe that the muslims religion is false... unless god himself opened a man's eye's to this fact no one would see.

freedom of religion was defended on this thread quite vigorously and indeed has nothing at all to do with defense of america as the muslims serving in the armed forces are honorable just as the christian or agnostic's alike

they all have died for the cause of freedom and that is the highest price to pay ...to all whom i have offended i apoligize ...

Can Muslims Be Good Americans??? after this thread ran it's coarse i now think they can ............................sentinal

Well Sentinel, I'm certainly not going to get into what is and isn't a true religion, but admiting you were wrong and that you have actually come around to another (possibly wider?) point of view is truly comendable in my opinion anyway.

For me this is what ATS is all about and good for you for admiting that you now consider some of your former opinions to be wrong.

Less and less people seem to be able to admit a mistake or a pov change...giving you two of these
for that.

Also giving two of these
to the posters who helped bring you around.
