London, Mar. 16 – The United States warned Iran through a secret channel that it would launch military attacks on a number of nuclear sites in Iran if there was no diplomatic progress a month after the Islamic Republic’s referral to the United Nations Security Council, according to a Persian-language website run by associates of the former Iranian president, Mohammad Khatami.

There is little doubt that the war rhetoric is beginning to flow as well as fairly direct and recent staments from Bush.


"This diplomatic effort must succeed if confrontation is to be avoided," Bush said. He did not elaborate on what would happen if international negotiations with Iran were to fail.

Imo "back-channel" threats are probably occurring and the above quote does not leave much "grey area".

i think the Persian , & english, website they are referring to is
Rooz Online...which is a more or less democratic offering which is
staffed by journalists and idealogues friendly to former President
M. Khatami of Iran.
