Oh man this would be nuts. Think about it? Give the toughest man in comics superspeed. The guy with the unbreakable claws. Then put him up against some sentinels. Maybe 10 or 12.

The problem (and it is a problem that has more to do with the lack of imagination of comic writers themselves) is that characters with super speed never seem to use it to its maximum effectiveness. Their role in combat is usually to scout out the enemy or to rescue teammates. But imagine a character who could fight effectively in super speed all the time. Who could react and throw punches and retreat before their opponent could move a hand to stop them.

Sadly, though, for most speedsters their powers do not get as good a workout. Although fast, their effectiveness in combat is somewhat limited. Wolverine, on the other hand, is one of the best hand to hand combatants in the Marvel universe. Surely if anyone could use super speed to its fullest extent, it would be him.

However, even if he had super speed, there are still characters who could spank him good. Characters with greater reflexes, such as Captain America, or characters who it was almost impossible to injure, like the Hulk, or simply characters who were better fighters than he was, like Sabretooth, would still present a challenge that would be difficult to overcome, even with super speed.

You forgot a role for superspeed...getting to school in time when your alarm goes off five minutes before class starts! lol....gots to love Smallville.

But in comics, I'd have to agree that superspeed is an underexploited power, except when something needs to happen near the speed of light, then they are needed even
worshipped, right?

Yeah that was pretty cool. Lex took to super speed pretty quick and wasnt afraid to do things flash would never do. Like when he threatened to vibrate his fingers through that workers skull and scramble his brains

I have to agree with Jeremiah25 alot of speedsters never use their powers to their full extent. Superman is a classic example he can move at speeds that almost rival the Flash yet most of the time never uses it in a fight.

Supes is already the most powerful Super Hero EVER concived.......If he used all his powers at once to win a fight what entertainment value would the Comic have...
