It's a wide open field, it would seem, for potential candidates. On first glance, it would seem that the Democrats are lining up behind Hillary
Clinton. Hillary, after all, has never really made her ambitions secret. She has never come out and said that she would not seek the Presidency.
Instead, she has always skirted the question while leaving the door wide open. So, in my mind,

Clinton will be the Democratic Candidate for the Presidency in 2008.
The Republicans, it would seem, also have a wide-open field of candidates for the 2008 Presidential race. Because of the Iraq conflict, the
tremendous unpopularity of the war will certainly make it difficult for any Republican candidate to win. However, it would be feasible that the
American people might still choose a Republican President providing that he/she was a strong critic of President Bush. Several Republicans come to
mind but one name seems to stand out --
John McCain
So, in my mind, the 2008 Presidential candidates will be Sen. Clinton (Dem) and Sen. McCain (Rep). Of course, this is still very early to be able to
make absolute statements but, as it stands, these two Senators would appear to be the most likely candidates.
