Now if you want to see a miracle look around you, maybe it's us. Think about it. Only planet in this solar system and universe so far to have life this way. And on this planet Humans in particular are the most unique of creatures, so theres your miracle. Wake up every morning and look at it.

Well, given the condition's required for life, it's not really much of a surprise that this is the only planet in our solar system with higher forms of life. Microbial life else where in our solar system is still a possibility. As for life elsewhere, we can't say we're all that there is. Possibility for other higher intelligent being's out there is pretty good.

Not really unique at all. We're not that far seperated from our primate cousins genetically. We share the same emotional responses most higher mamillian, and some reptillian species have. We're not the only self aware species on this planet either. Many higher life forms, as well as lower life forms have been shown to have rudimentary language's, some more complex then other's, and a few probably almost as complex as ours. Many species on this planet make use of tool's and have basic culture's. The only thing we're really unique for is how far we've developed all of these very same virtues nearly all species possess on our planet.

We're far from a miracle.

we're the only planet that we've found to have life...

big deal there, of the dozens of planets we've found, we're the only one with life.

we need to keep an open mind and explore more planets before we label ourselves a miracle

Exactly, but is that a mistake?

Still, there is no other consistent life forms with all of our traits doing what we can do, I'd say there is something unique about that.

I don't see anything indicating that it wasn't a mistake. God is a man made concept under constant evolution, re-definition, re-interpretation. Do we understand all the underlying principles? Not as of yet, and to use that in order to argue the existence for a god is just ... lazy. How many thing's has mankind labeled as divine only to have it ripped apart through constant discoveries and learning about our universe and world. The best parts have yet to come.

I don't believe there isn't any other life out in the cosmos or even right here. Indeed many historical texts and even scripture indicate this, but philosophically speaking that still doesn't mean that our existence is not some kind of a miracle.

C'mon 9 or more planets with just zero life, and what about the rest of the galaxy, we should have found something by now, it must be difficult for life to get started; or is it something else.

One of the best articles I ever read was about the mystery of our moon. How did it get there? From what I heard scientists are having a hard time explaining this scientifically. It seems as though someone just placed it there. Did aliens do that? And it just so happens to effect the tides.

Technically, no we shouldn't have found anything yet. We've hardly even begun to explore our own solar system. We've only just started looking for other planet's, and still don't have the technology to find earth sized planet's. Our planet is the only planet that can currently support life. If venus weren't experiencing a greenhouse effect right now, it'd be capable of supporting life as well. Same goes for mars, if it had a thicker atmosphere. That's two other planet's that had the potential, but condition's just didn't go as they did on our planet. While we're still debating how the moon formed, we do know it's part of our solar system. Perhaps this site will help a little starchild.gsfc.nasa.gov... .

Your right, there is no other animals like us. No other animals underwent the same enviromental preassure's our species had gone through. If your confused at all, you can do a few quick and easy search's on google and learn more about how our particular species developed the way it has.
