Opposing any plan to impose sanctions on Iran, Pakistan said on Friday that any curbs on the Islamic Republic of Iran would have a negative impact on the world economy.
Pakistan opposes the use of force and sanctions against Iran on the pretext of its nuclear program, Information Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed told a news conference.
"World powers should realize that Iran is not like Iraq.
"In case of sanctions on Iran the prices of oil, which is now at 62 dollars per barrel, would shoot up to 100 dollar.
"This will have a devastating impact on the world economy," Rashid told a news conference at his parliamentary chamber.
