Well, it's hard for me to keep up with all the new systems, and I've never been much into playstation anyhow. This system actually seems like it's going to be nothing short of amazing. I just recently got the XBox 360 and aside from slightly sharper image, I see little difference.

I have the 360.. and comparing it to the original Xbox I feel it is miles ahead. If your using it in Hi-Def than the difference is even more noticable.

The PS3 is trying to blow the 360 out of the water but alot of the gadgets its trying to install seem to be going under. I have read articles about some of the items they already had to remove from the core already due to different circumstances.

PS3 will probably be better for the obvious reason, the later release date. Xbox was better than PS2 because it had a later release date and could adjust where Sony flawed.

Either way I am happy with my system, just picked up Fight Night Round 3 yesterday and been beatin away on that for awhile.

I disagree with chisler that the Xbox was better than the PS2 even though it came out years later and was twice its size. For one, it had better games and a wider network of titles than the XBox ever had or will have. Plus you could still use the PS1 games on it, which was major plus.

The PS3 on the other hand however meager the system may be will outstrip the Xbox360 not because its going to be released latter but because its not made with a narrow intention of only serving as a games platform like the 360 but a complete next gen system of home entertainment network with seamless integration of all components. Plus the chip behind the PS3 was specifically designed to meets its high demands where as the 360 is a salvage operation that MS has done in order to save face by coming out with some shoddy contraption that they could be able to release even after the PS3. Apart from dwarfing the 360 in shear power, the wide range of gadgets, interconnectivity and a complete entertainment experience granted by the PS3 show that it is much more than merely a bigger beast in comparison to the 360. Also with the massive support for the PS franchise and also its overwhelming number of titles to choose from both past and present make the Play Station experience more all encompassing when compared to the minimalistic ambitions of the 360.

XBOX was better in my mind due to the... I'm not great with the lingo on hardware... the processor. If you played the same game for PS2 and for XBOX, it would look slightly better for the xbox. I noticed this big time with the EA Sports games, NHL, MVP Baseball, etc.

Their was a distinct noticable difference between the 2. From what it looks like at the moment, PS3 will up the 360 one on this installment of platforms.

Only time will tell.

The Xbox Live set up also really pushed the popularity up for XBOX, they still only own a very small piece of the pie for their market, but it is on the climb.

It is Sonys to lose, that is for sure.

If it gets held up and delayed its going to be because of the DVD formats they are wrestling with and the whole debate over which is going to become the main format and which will get discarded. This launch is going to be interesting for all kinds of reasons, and one of the best is going to be watching Sony ship more units on launch day than MS did for the 360! I know the PS3 is going to be the 'pwnz0r' but what I really want to see at this point is what Nintendo has in store for the Revolution, thats going to be the real suprise I think.

Revolution is going to be interesting. With the format they have for the controller, more of a remote control for a television look to it. Very strange and different.

Personally I see it hurting them, as most people would not really give it a fair shake. But I see those who do give it a chance and spend the time to get used to it will deffinately appreciate what they have done.

No system will ever top the SNES. The glory days!

totally agreed! the SNES was the best system on earth hands down! speaking of SNES...did anyone ever play a game called Earthbound? I loved that game!! I used to subscribe to Nintendo Power magazine back in the day...Earthbound came out with all this scratch-n-sniff stuff..in the magazine articles and with the game. Was one of my all time favs.

Yeah I love playing the roms online for the old platforms. I have read that Revolution is going to be compatible with all of the old ones to wipe out the roms that are being played online so much.

This would be great for nintendo!

For now though, I am hooked on the 360.

I have NHL 2k6 which is very good, Madden 2006 which is absolutely amazing, Call of Duty 2.. makes you feel you like were on the beaches of Normandy.. and recently just picked up Fight Night Round 3 which is the greatest boxing game ever.

I had Need for Speed: Most Wanted for a few weeks their, and that is probably one of the best games of them all.

I am glad to see Microsoft pushing it to have a broader range of games this time around on this platform.
