We had the same question in my office when I first saw the video a few months back. Tried to freeze frame as best we could, but was still very blurry. General consensus was that they were Jaguars. Crazy buggers!

Looked like GR-3 Tornados to me, but judging by the foreign language speaking, I'm guessing they're Jaguars, since I'm pretty sure those guys weren't speaking english, so being in Britain to see the Tornadoes has to be out of the question, unless of course other nations in Europe use the Tornado, but it looked like the GR-3 to me. I only say it might be the Jaguars purely due to the environment(such as the foreign language).

Shattered OUT...

I think the tail is too small for a Tornado.

The location, I believe, is Corsica (Corse being French for Corsica apparently). There is a low flying range there. From the link below:

192.5.30.131...

the following comes:

"Ex JAGGED COURSE – Joint Exercise with the French at Solenzara involving UK Jaguars."

Doesn't necessarily mean they are Jaguars due to this, as Tornado's like a bit of low flying now and then as well, but at least we know Jag's are in the frame! And I believe the French have the Jaguar as well?

For a fleeting moment there, as the last and lowest aircraft passes, I get a hint of Alphajet, possibly Belgian Airforce colours (light coloured camo scheme carried around that time). Some of those Belgians are a bit mad too

I was thinking AlphaJets, Jaguars, maybe Mirage F1 (and for a second, Harrier). I think if I had to bet on it though I would pick AlphaJets!

they are 3 alpha jets of the Belgium Airforce

Yes, absolutely definitley Belgian AF Alpha Jets. The pilot of the third one must have been mental!

Yep, I vote Alphajets too. 99.9% cert.

Yeah.. the jets were too small to be Jaguars..
They has to be trainers looking at the structure of the over-protruding cockpit for better visibility..

100 % Alpha Jets, 100 % Belgium Air Force, 100% mental 3rd pilot.

The video was taken at solenzara (Corsica) airforce station in the end of exercise fly by.

The guy who took the footage posted in years ago on a military web site and it has stayed in my video clips ever since I first found it!. Superb low level stuff!

Oh and here is a web site with some of the most mental low flying in fast jets you will ever see! Its freaking awesome!

Love it!

Yeah, the talk on the tape is in a belgian dutch dialect from central to north-eastern side of the province of Limburg.

Hes saying "Ich vin da ze toch gestendig aan de kant gon zoe"

Which in clean dutch would be "Ik vind dat ze nogal fel aan de kant gaan"

Which in english and context of the tape would translate to "Looks like those guys down there, eventhough they were talking big, are scowering to the side of the runway".

check this close flyby

(A note regarding this awful video, provided by a former B-52 pilot: "The B-52 in a steep turn at low airspeed loses roll control, resulting in a natural over-banking tendency. The small rudder authority is unable keep the nose from dropping, nor can it pick up the lower wing. B-52s do not have conventional ailerons, but spoilers on the upper wing surface similar to the MU-2. The first flashes of light seen prior to impact is the lower wing contacting high power transmission lines in the area.")

the crash is the same pilot who just barely clears a ridge in a previous flight over the yakima bombing range.

the video portion of that is cut short b/c the camera operator thought the plane would crash.

the co-pilot on that plane pulled the nose up at the last instant and estimated that they cleared the ridge peak by a mear 3 feet

Lt Col Holland was the aircraft commander on a single ship mission to the Yakima Bombing Range to drop practice munitions and provide an authorized photographer an opportunity to shoot pictures of the B-52 from the ground as it conducted its bomb runs. Lt Col Holland flew the aircraft well below the established 500 foot minimum altitude for the low level training route. In fact, one crossover was photographed at less than 30 feet, and another crewmember estimated that the final ridgeline crossover was "somewhere in the neighborhood of about three feet" (emphasis added) above the ground, and that the aircraft would have impacted the ridge if he had not intervened and pulled back on the yoke to increase the aircraft's altitude. The photographers stopped filming because "they thought we were going to impact . . . and they were ducking out of the way." 50 Lt Col Holland also joined an unbriefed formation of A-10 fighter aircraft to accomplish a flyby over the photographer. This mission violated ACC Regulations regarding minimum altitudes, FAR Part 91 and Air Force Regulation (AFR) 60-16, regarding overflight of people on the ground. There were several occasions during the flight where other crewmembers verbally voiced their opposition to the actions being taken by Lt Col Holland. Following the flight, these same crewmembers went up the squadron chain of command with their story and stated they would not fly with Lt Col Holland again.
