I was thinking last night that perhaps everyone has the same intelligence when we first come into being. As we live more lives we learn and experience things that increase our intelligence. As a result those who seem to have a higher intelligence may have just lived more previous lives than those with a lower intelligence. Old souls vs New souls. What do you think?

Every individual experiences life different. Some enjoy it longer and others spend more learning/experiencing. To say that you automatically have a higher intelligence then others deu to having had more lives is something I don't believe in. Its quality over quantity, everyone does it their own way at their own rate.

Then why do geniuses never have past life experiences?

Oh lord yes I totally agree with that thought. There are so many instances where it makes no sense that someone is capable of doing/ creating a certain event. I can't remember which book it was I believe it was by Jerome Gardner (Founder of Gardnerian Witchcraft) that said our recurring lives are like grades, we're put here to learn a lesson; we don't we fail and repeat it, we succeed and move on to the next grade/ lesson. I'm not a Wiccan but I really like that line of thought regarding reincarnation.

I once signed up to take a course by a master with an old soul who was coming to town for a week of teaching. I know he was an old soul cause it said so right there on the poster. I couldn’t wait for the lessons to begin.

I’m not going to give his name because he’s still giving lessons and I don’t want to be sued, still. On the night the classes were to begin he came out and spoke to the class for about 45 minutes and then opened the floor to questions. I shot my hand up over and over, hoping he would call upon me. Finally he did.

I opened with, “You stated that all souls are eternal.” And he nodded kindly to me. I then asked, “If all souls are eternal, shouldn’t we all be the same age? Why do you have an old soul and I do not when we should all be exactly one forever old?”

I was NOT trying to be a smart ass. It was an honest question. He stared at me for a solid minute before he answered. He said that some souls take the hard lessons first and therefore learn more at an earlier age. He actually went into detail with it and I was quite happy with the answer he gave.

When the lesson was over and class dismissed I was walking towards the door when I was stopped and asked to come into the office. My money was refunded to me and I was told not to come back. That sucked! That really, really sucked.

Since then I’ve had to develop my own theories on the age of the soul and why some of us are gifted and others are born to despair. They seem to make sense to me and it helps to understand the nature of life and our roles in it.

I guess what I’m saying is don’t look to others for meaning. find it within yourself. Life is not a trail you are supposed to follow. It is a trail you are to make for yourself.

Love and light,

Wupy

Never is rarely the appropriate term. I think that the far more likely reason why geniuses "never" have past lives is that many find it difficult to accept that something exists which there superior intellect cannot explain.

In regards to the concept behind this thread, I have heard that you keep coming back to try and learn the lessons you were unable to in the previous life, hence where the intelligence (or knowledge may be a better term) aspect came from. True, it is the experiences rather than time alone, that aids us in this quest, but the likelyhood of encountering learning experiences should increase with time.

Great to see so many interesting perspectives, I welcome them all.
