Time Zone setting

I'm not sure if this is the place to ask this or not, but my time zone settings won't keep. I'm -5 hrs EST but the setting keeps changing. Any help?

WHat settings for what aren't staying accurate? Your PC?

I gave up a year ago, I think that when you get logged out it defaults.

Yeah I always have the same problem now, I just ignore it. Rarely do I even acknowledge when something was posted.

As SC said, probably just defaults after logging off.

Every time you edit your profile, the time zone resets. It's a glitch in the matrix. I just remember whenever I edit my profile, I set the time zone first thing. It works fine.

Ahhh ic. Even when you think you understand the matrix, their is yet another piece to the puzzle.

Benevolent Heretic is right. Always check/set the time zone before hitting "submit" whenever you change something in your settings.

One way to check if you have the time zone correct is to visit this page:

www.abovetopsecret.com...

Look at the top post which is the latest. See the time the last post was submitted. That is right below the colomn "Last post". If that time is very close to your current time (plus/minus a few minutes), then you got your settings right. Because the time you see there is "your" time. If you forgot to set the time zone when you edited some setting, you will probably have this time 12 hours wrong. Hope it helps

Haha, not necessarily 12 hours, but x hours depending on where you live. That´s what I meant

The problem itself was part of the original XMB code I believe that was later fixed subsequent versions, but due to the modifications done by SO they cant just slap the XMB update on and I'm pretty sure its not too awful high on the list of priorities in terms of bugs to fix.
