Ectoplasm (Pics included)

Does any1 know anything else about, or ever had any experices with ectoplasm?Whats its purpose?


Ectoplasm:A seemingly lifelike substance, solid or vaporous in appearance. It protrudes from psychic, or unknown energy through a medium and can manifest as faces, or limbs of spirits. It is usually white in color, and some say a strange odor similar to ozone. (www.csgr.us/terminology.html)

The last one looks photoshopped, the face is wearing a helmet and is far clearer than the other one's. All I know about ectoplasm is that it sometimes appears after a manifestation.
