Could it be with Saddam toppled that various Muslim sects are competing with take control of the rule of state in Iraq?

and with the Shiites and Sunnis being two of the major sects that they are in a hot box with just an incident like this to light a fuse of their competition for Islam law according to their conflicting interpretations of the Koran?

Kind of like the religious turned to social/poltical strife in Ireland with Catholics and Prodestants???

There, you've answered your own question. It's an age old rivalry going back to sometime after the Prophet's death, which was when the Shi'ite splintered from the Sunni.

This is some historical facts about the population of Iraq and middle east along with some pass history for anybody interested.

Only learning the history of a country can make you understand why they are the way they are.

exactly what i was thinking, why do they hate each other so much, and if there is a civil war, i sure hope our troops can pull out or something, because they will get caught up in the middle of everything and be the bad guys no matter where they turn,and i also read in the newspaper today, that they are saying it is the americans faults because they didnt provide enough protection, so one minute they hate americans and dont want them near then, then its their fault because they werent giving enough protection.when will all the finger pointing just stop, and why dont they see, its not the americans or british or any of our allies faults this happened, its the cowards behind the act who should be punished(even though they havent found them)but thats not a reality in iraq, they have iraqis killing iraqis and in return they go and kill americans, i mean i dont think our troops should even be there, but they are and they need our support,so dont go and say its their faults that this happened

No hope for Iraq, I see Sunnis getting killed and Iran having a new province, a coup by some Sunni general after U.S. troops leave, both groups turning on the U.S. thinking they did the attack, or permanent U.S. bases
