Normally my podcasts are pretty low quality and a nice filesize. I dont know what went wrong with this one. I know what you mean about the bandwidth
thing though. I personally wouldn't have downloaded it if somebody else put it up
. Anything over 1.5 MB I have to seriously consider. My lowest
podcast was about 6:30 long and about 2 MB.
Well the truth is, I tried damn hard just to even find a program that will save files as MP3s. Sound recorder says it will, but it ends up as a WAV
anyway. Tried another converter and it still wouldnt work. My free version of Goldwave won't convert it. And for some strange reason I still havent
downloaded Audacity and most likely never will. Right now I use a free trial version of something called Smart Wav Converter. It only converts 60% of
the original file, so I have to calculate it and add an extra 40% of silence on to the end of all my podcasts. It's quite a pain.
So if it makes you feel better, the original WAV was about 8 minutes long and approximately 100 MB. Took a few minutes to save, actually
.
I'll try to squeeze it down to 3 minutes per 1 MB in the future, but the quality might get even more drastically worse than it already is
.
