What are the motivating factors that would overcome the work required for a relationship?

Do not use the term "love." If you feel the need to do so, explain the feeling, do not simply use that.

I will, as usual, be taking a totally unfeeling and objective look at the answers to this. Assume that I know nothing of anything except basic english terms.

If anyone feels the need to be "funny" or "obsene" your reply wont be consider in my final evaluation.

Thank you for your time.

Lifelong companionship, and NO a pet doesn't offer the same thing.

Raideur, your posts always crack me up even if that's not your intent. They're so negative, depressing, and funny.

There's someone out there for all of us, even you, although she might be in a padded room with a straight jacket on.
j/k

Peace

True and deep friendship- a connection with someone that you don't find everyday, or in casual every day relationships. A true safety in being completely vulnerable with someone.

Everyone has vulnerabilities, even if you are unfeeling and seemingly objective and rational about everything-you are not perfect, nor unfeeling, nor without any vulnerabilites. A relationship where you can be yourself and loved for it, and despite it, and which helps you understand yourself as musch as others, is worth any effort, and all such effort yields such sweet fruit, it is therefor no longer real "work" as much as it is simply maintence of a self preserving nature even.

Something that goes deeper than need or lonliness, a true connection and friendship. A willingness to do such maintenance in a relationship such as considering anothers thoughts, views, opinions and being sensitive to their needs of intellectual stilmuation, sexual satisfaction, and emotional vulnerability, and spiritual sensitivity yields a fruit of body, mind, and spirit you can not achieve in life alone.

The motivation comes from enjoying beeing around that person , more than anyone else you know. When yo enjoy the company of a person for what they are, and what they believ in weather you agree with them or not, you will do everything and anything to overcome the problems along the way.

The motivation comes from how good it is to see that person smile, and be happy around you, just as you feel happy around them.

its that simple

Raid, your post reminds me of the story of the fool and the wiseman.

The fool is known to have simple pleasures much more often than the wiseman.
The wiseman has pleasure much fewer times, but they are much better pleasures than the fool gets.
If the fool disagree's with this, it is because he does not fully know both sides of the issue.

For some reason-which i don't know-you don't seem to desire friends, girlfriends or any sort of relationship.

You say they are not important or needed, I say, as in the story of the fool and the wiseman, you are wrong about relationships, and if you disagree with this, it is because you don't know both sides of the issue.

You are not suppose to directly address me in this MoN, but rather simply give your description. You need not try to convince me of anything.
