Greenland's glaciers are speeding to the ocean

Greenland's glaciers have begun moving faster, almost doubling the rate at which they dump ice into the Atlantic Ocean within the last five years, new satellite images reveal. The data has sparked warnings that experts have underestimated how much sea levels will rise in the future.

"We are witnessing enormous changes," says Eric Rignot from the Jet Propulsion Laboratory at Caltech in Pasadena, California, US. "These are very active glaciers," he adds. "Similar to the glaciers in Alaska, once you push them a little bit out of equilibrium they start thinning and retreating very fast."

Well here's a shock "scientist" were wrong about how fast changes happen. There is little doubt the planet is in a warming cycle, the real question is "natural or manmade".

The name of the place is "greenland" named back in the 900's. Oh by the way there was little winter between 900 and 1000AD. Yet "greenland" was a viking "marketing" idea?
