South African Situation

I think there should be a semi-political discussion about the state of South Africa. It seems to me that that nation is becoming more unstable as blacks reallocate wealth from whites to blacks. This instability I feel could cause a war or reversion back to the segregated society it was before.

I come from South Africa but have lived overseas most of my life.

I believe the african government is slowly turning south african to many of its native african peoples.Being of mixed race I find this both good and bad.The good thing is that many africans are beginning to benifit from the new government.But i believe that they might be taking it abit too far.I believe that many politicians are trying to get back at many of the whites,hence mass emmegration from South africa and immergration of nigerians and other african nationals into south africa.

I think it is becoming an issue and is slowly turning into Zimbabwe.I can understand to and extent why many whites are being pushed.Its not just about the ethnic groups but i believe its also about influence.

South Africa is one of the fastest growing nations in the world.Its sits up there with the other fast growing nations but its achievements are often overshadowed by China and India.The government might not know how to deal with this growth.

By the way is south africa a western nation?im really confused.Its got a moderate economy and GNP not to mention its a regional power.But im confused as to where it sits compared to many other nations.

I was just reading up on South Africa yesterday after the discussion about Zimbabwe and it does look really bad over there with thousands of murders of farmers since the end of minority rule.

Curiously in my experience many with the surname Van Der Merwe...is that the only family name for white people in SA?
