Anyone know how to get past email password problems? My email account requires a password to download my email but for some reason the password got wiped or got changed to an incorrect one and I don't remember the correct one. I use a spam program called MailWasher that has the password stored in a coded format where I see something like ***** but I haven't been able to copy that password. Any ideas of how I can reset my email password so that I can download email again?

Most e-mail services have button to press if you forget your pass.

Do you have a "local" mail-server and use a program such as Outlook, or do you use an online mail service?
If you're using the online mail service they'll have a "Forgot Password" at the login screen (as Umbrax pointed out). By pressing this they'll ask you some personal questions that you set up during the registration process.

A handy tool to have is Password Revealers that allows you to view passwords hidden with asterisks in password fields like Asterisk Password. HERE is a good list of such programs.

Thanks for the help. I tried restoring my computer back to a time when the password was present but earlier restores failed to be successful. I finally found some software that revealed the passwords behind the ***** in the spam program I was using. That allowed me to download my email. For some odd reason though, the password was accepted at first and then it seems to be rejected as if I may have changed it but I can't figure out what it could be. I'm referring to the password I set up for different identities within outlook express. There is no help button available there. My email is working as long as I don't change the identity. Outlook should have a disable password overide feature in my opinion. :bnghd:
