Any Islam / Muslim based humanitarian acts or efforts?

Not being cynical, but can anyone provide me with any information on Muslim/Islam based organizations that provide humanitarian efforts or partake in acts that is positive to helping those in need?

With all the bad news surrounding terrorism and the calls for jihad I seriously can't remember ever hearing of any organizations based in that religion getting involved in bettering the lives of their fellow man?

Red crescent in Muslim countries
