Secret Royal navy

Talking to a friend the other day he happened to mention that the Royal navy had kept the same naval budget but were building minimal warships.
He also went on to say that submarine devolopment had tripled!!!!
So from my understanding most of the Royal navy is now underwater, seems feasible.

ok - over what timescale has the RN " kept its same budget " ? - if we are going to believe yoir friend


in the last few years , we have commisioned albion , bulwark , wavekinght ,

we have the first type45 in fitting out - with more underway

thats hardly - no new surface ships

as for subs - can you cite any major recent developments ? apart from those listed in published sorces ??

i am having a hard time swallowing yoiur premise that " most " of the RN is now silent service forces

unless you can cite some sources to convince me otherwise

I know it sounds a bit suspect but I can't divulge my source but he has friends that have friends and its not like that implausible that the Royal Navy with its limited budget would like to have most of its hardware out of sight is it???????????
