I have.

I remember a long time ago that I will click on post reply and start typing a reply and I would be disconnected.

No phone calls, just disconnecting.

It would happen a lot of times and the only times I have been kicked off the internet is when I'm on ATS.

But that has seemed to pass away, doesn't happen anymore.

To the original question, yes, this site has several active posters who are in the governemnt, yet, simply enjoy the site.
The federal government has never shut down the site (supposedly)
And most of the staff doesn't work for the government (supposedly)

I've lost all IRC capabilities.
So whenever I'm on ATS chat, or some other chat function, I'm not at home....

That's about it. I don't really want to buy a new computer, because that costs money and money is extremly hard to come by nowdays...

Dr, did you really get a trojan from "Big Brother"?
Well then, I guess they have about fifty more to go on the list before they mess with me, (MA, you're next )
Fair, legitmate question, however, it's been brought up about every two or three weeks in a new thread...

Curious,I asked this same question of some folks on another thread yesterday,so I must say it's an excellent topic.I actually got a couple of u2u replies on it.This may be a little grandiose,but for all we know we may be so good that they judge their performance based on ours.
Which actually.now that I think about it,I'm going to start a new thread about the other side of the coin-
We are aware of all of this stuff,but we don't actually do much about it....why not?Look for my new thread shortly.

Ofcoarse the site is being watched. but who knows who exactly is watching us. nsa probly not cia not likley my bet is if any one is its the fbi (fib=liars) .

I've been coming to ATS for less than a week,I'm very green here,and I HAVE had my computer inexplicably disconnect during a reply,once yesterday,and once today.On both occassions my reply had content that "they" might not be particularly fond of.
I think that it's obvious that this is the kind of site they would watch.I would ask them what I asked on my thread today-"now that you know,what are you going to do about it?"-this is classic conspiracy-theory paranoia.....I LIKE IT!.....you're not paranoid if they're REALLY after you........

No. And no to the second part, though we've had a few hoaxers try to convince us they're being watched/are in danger.

Why is any agency going to watch this board, when all it's doing is reporting secondhand information? They'd be watching the sources.

Byrd brought up an interesting point, why would the waste their time here and watch us and not watching the sources.I have to agree with Byrd.

i have a spyware clean-up agent and it goes absolutely crazy every single day. every hour i clean it and evrey hour i find something. everyone else in my family has this program and are constantly connected like me yet they only had to clean their computers one time. it seems like a constant thing for me.

i also get disconnected way too often. i have a cable modem yet i get disconnected at least once a day, and for long periods of time. dont know if this has anything to do with the site but i KNOW ATS is responsible for my unusually large amount of "ticks" that latch on and "data mine" me non stop.

just a hypothesis, maybe no one person monitors the site, instead the agency just employs spyware programs that latch on to users of the site, do the logging and observing for them.

I would hope so...

That's why I am open with my location; if I stumble onto something, I am hoping to be confronted... it would be a dream come true!

We already have a number of known and admitted federal agents who regularly peruse ATS.

And I would love to know whic one of them loaded a keystroke logger trojan on my computer...

But can you prove that they are actually federal agents, and not kids looking for attention?

I just think they have bigger fish to fry.. so to say.

To elaborate.. just because someone works for the Gov't doesn't mean they are some big scary agent out to destroy all of us who question the gov't.. they are probably U.S. Forest Rangers, or postmen, or something like that :p

And I agree with a previous poster. all that we see/say here is second hand or theoretical information...

the only way I think we would be "watched" is if they came to here, and similiar boards on the internet, to see who we use as sources, to see which of those if any are dangerous.

For the ones who computers completely shuts down on you it could be windows, mine kept doing that and then I got a new one and it has a program that actually tells what the problem is and it sent me to windows update and it was my driver the one installed on computer had a defect that shut it down, windows update tested my computer and loaded a new driver on and since then it has not shut down, so some of you might want to try that. As for being watched I know that there are a lot of media companies that put tracking devices on your computers to track where you go have you not noticed that when you go from website to website the next day your junkmail will correlate to the previous searches and websites. If anyone does not have a spy removal program please let me know I use spybot and its free, I can find a website that will let you geta free download.
