Ospreys, I believe, were developed by a division of Textron, which is based in Rhode Island. But I don't think they could move at the speed my Mother stated that these objects traveled at, as well as the manuevers they performed.
I just got off the phone with her five minutes before this posting and she told me military jets were back in the area yesterday but there was no sightings that were unexplainable.
