human origins enquiries?

i wander if anyone can help me, i only joined the forum a short while back but have had an avid interest in alien and UFO conspiracy for a long time.
one particular theory i came across recently was about alien intervention when we were just apes thousands of years ago. evolutionists have never been able to explain the giant leap from tree living apes to homo sapiens with intricate speech patterns, incredibly developed social skills and an alarming skill of technology and warfare. it all happened in a relatively short period of time. it cannot be explained how it came to be. the theory as i heard it says that an alien race, hybridised their DNA with that of the apes, our ancesters therefore creating an alien/mammal hybrid, an upright,intellectual, talking being called a human.
if anyone can tell me in more depth about this Intervention theory please help me, also tell me your views and beliefs on this particular theory.
