Russian state security shows British diplomats downloading secret information to fake rocks!

news.bbc.co.uk
Russia's state security service, the FSB, has accused British diplomats of spying in Moscow.
It backed claims made in a Russian TV report which showed footage of what it said was British agents retrieving data from a fake rock planted on a street.

The programme also said a UK diplomat made regular payments to Russian non-governmental organisations.

The UK Foreign Office said it was "concerned and surprised", and denied any improper conduct.

This was on the news tonight. It looks like a fake to me, but could be partially true. Why would they download or upload information to these fake rocks , when they could send encrypted data across the internet?

i almost wet myself when i found out about this. a certain (fictional?) thriller novelist ex-forces i think wrote a book regarding infiltrating the st. petersburg museum eavesdropping centre and i am almost certain he included in the yarn a fake rock (could of been a budski can) placed outside the museum which was discovered.

i'll bid for it if they put it on e-bay (expect postal delays up to six months for packages originating from the former soviet republics... i jest e-bay so cool it with the extradition request, please!).
fake rock, another for the database.
