By making intelligent posts that advance threads. An intelligent post can mean asking a good question, researching a good answer, contributing a good link.

Do those things and you'll get starred.

When you can begin your own threads, try to do your homework first and search to see if anyone else has posted it first using the search tool in the upper right of the screen, add to existing threads first so you can see where the discussion's already gone and what it's covered.

Read the threads and think before answering, and always be polite.

On the button bar on top you'll find a button labelled U2U that turns red when you get a message, click on it to go to your mail and open any that you see that you haven't yet. Scroll down to the bottom of the message to find the reply button.

This is a good idea. Helps the newcomers along nicely.

I need help understanding everything... I am new. HELP!

I'm not exactly new, I've been here over a year, but i think I still need someone to adopt me. Just in the past several weeks, I've become an active member , and it seems like I'm addicted to ats, I'm here all the time. But I do not know all the ins and outs yet.

I just recently joined today and would love to be introduced to another new member or a vet of ATS to show me around, help me get set-up and maybe point out some topics to get me started on the right path.

I have lurked on this site for years and honestly had no idea that there was so much more going on inside the ATS "cyber world".

actually been here a while, but despite that i am a newbie still, esp re technical aspects of being a presence on ats (et al)... eg how do i search for my own (specific, not just page/thread) posts.. and replies to them etc..
