No matter how fast your connection is, its never fast enough. Get used to a DSL connection for awhile, and all the sudden this takes to long to load. I realize comparing to Dial up its alittle greedy but hey, human nature.

Bigger, Faster, Better!

Why are you blaming AOL for a slow internet? Its your connection, not ISP.

Do you have dial-up? I have dial-up, it sucks badly. I'd kill for atleast DSL.

I have dial up, it sucks too. Kacen is right, it's not aol that is causing your slow commenction, but aol sucks anyways for different reasons.

Funny, I never understood why AOL is so hated. I've always had it and I've never had any problems with it at all. I use Firefox to browse though.

Back then when the internet was still "militarized" so to speak the rocket scientists loved to hate AOL because they brought the "me too" crowd on the network. Today with all the crazy people roaming the intarweb from around the world, there's no reason to hate AOL anymore. All internet users are stoopid now. The elitists group moved some place else.

it always irks me to see americans complain about their internet access.
australians pay 60$USD for a 1500/256kbps adsl connection with 20GB monthly quota, and that's the standard itnernet connection. once you go over the 20gb quota, you usually get throttled to between 56 and 72kbps (depending on ISP). most ISP's use RANDOM PACKET BLOCKING for throttling, which in effect throttles the speed down by another 10% because of resend attempts and network overhead.
aussies also get stuck with #ty 300+ pings to american servers, normally, as well as having minimal decent game servers in our country due to a cheaparsed ex-government-owned company that owns the majority of the internet backbones in this country, meaning coloco expenses are through the roof, as well as wholesale connection expenses.

I don't know nrky, I am pretty happy with my cable deal through Optus. I pay $60 AUSD a month and have unlimited downloads and a very fast connection to boot. Hardly ever have problems with anything loading unless it requires an update.

People are always amazed at how quick my baby goes ... of course that has alot to do with the pc also right ?

Well pointlessness we have Qwest where we live for dsl and comcast for broadband.
Qwest has a special for $26.99 a month for a year for 1.5Mb a sec down speed and Comcast I think is around $60 a month for 7Mb?? a sec down speed.
I don't know what is available in Cali though, I'm sure they got some kinda good deals goin on, Isn't Qwest out there too?

Imjaded: Optus unlimited plan isn't really unlimited, it can get throttled once you go over a certain limit.
Recently the ACCC ruled that advertising 'unlimited' download plans is illegal and false advertising.
