Weird Shining light in the sky - What could it be?

Hi there.

I have this strange light near my house that shines in all kinds of colours.It shines blue, pink, red, white and yellow.
I know it can be a star, because it is always at the same place, it never moves, but i never knew that the stars could shine in so several tones of colours.

Anyway ideas/knowledge about it?

maybe it's the international space station ? although that moves across the sky. so i guess it's a star

it's most likely a star. atmospheric effects make stars twinkle different colors and make it seem they are flashing. the spacestation, and planets don't twinkle, for some reason, something that reflects light doesnt twinkle as something that genreates it's own light like a star does. i'm not quite sure why that is, anyone else know?

Most likley a star , like it is here where I live . Up to 12 can do that. The only thing that consernce me is that some of them actually move ... and FAST

Does it move at the same time as the other lights in the sky?

If it does its probably a star.

If you live in an area with little light and clean air you can see the stars much better than people in other places like big cities.

I live in Cartaxo,close to Santarem.Stars can be clearly seen,the city ain't big.Anyway,yeah,it's probably a star,it's always there,every day.

Try and take a picture of it.

Is it the brightest star in the sky? If it is, it is most likely the star Sirius.

Question, if you see the star at 8PM and then look again at 2AM, is it still in the same position? Then it isn't Sirius.

The reason the supposed star changes colors and blinks is the atmosphere conditions, smog, wind, even heat from your neighbors roof, all play into this.

BTW, there is a comet out the last couple weeks called McNaught. Apparently even visible during daytime if you know where to look. It will be gone soon.
