I was just surfing the web and found a website (well, many) which contain large lists of peoples names, many of whom are big inspirations to me, they were all listed because they have one thing in common.

Well, all of the people above are vegetarians. To me this is amazing. I became a veggie about 6/7 months ago, but only just found out all these were veggies. Its inspiring. Wow.

So honestly people, how many of you guessed what they had in common?

Inspired? I am, why dont you become a vegetarian?
While your considering it, take at the global benifits of eating less meat. Meat eating is benificial to you and factory faming animals is destroying the planet!

Are many ATS memebers here veggies?

I tried the vegetarian lifestyle even to the extent of carrying it to the macrobiotic extreme. I hated it, I cheated all the time, but I truely respect folks that can be selfdiciplined to carry it off.

I could be wrong but I don't think John Lennon is still a vegetarian.

Hold on, RZA is a veg? I had no idea. But basically what was said, I love my steak too much and my KFC and although I can't do it, that makes me respect those who can even more. Keep at it.

By being vegetarian, you're damaging the ozone layer, and causing an oxygen depletion in the atmosphere. The fewer cows we eat, the more methane is produced by the bigger number of cows. The more plants we eat, the less oxygen there is released, and the more carbon dioxide that is in the atmosphere because there are fewer plants.

There would be alot fewer cows around if they werent being bread and slaughtered specifically for factory farming. This happens to cows litterally in their 100's of millions each year.

I'm also positive that even if we did leave cows around to produce methane, it would still be alot less polluting than factory farming. I suggest you check the link I provided before saying something so ignorant, or do I need to go out of my way to quote and spoon feed it to you?

I guess in the future I'll remember to keep my jokes down to a lower level of humor. Maybe YOU should try figuring out what people mean before calling them ignorant, or insulting anyone who doesn't agree with you, or tell you how great you are.

I keep meaning to give it a serious go, Vegatarianism, but I can't find anyone who'll hide the sausages well enough, and my self discipline is non existant

Also, being allergic to anything containing Wheat, my options become very limited...but I'm still planning to try. Just not today. Or tommorow.

Many apologies for any offense caused... sometimes its hard to tell the differnce between a joke and someone being sarcastic or cocky when your reading text on a forum...

I spent a summer a few years ago in Alberta, Canada. I was working at a pig slaughter house as a job, as I lived with family and didn't really need money, but it was something in my pocket to enjoy. Anyways one day I called back home to get information on a baseball team I was looking to play for.

I was talking about this with one of my good friends who is a vegetarian, he asked where I was working and as stunned as I am I blurted it out. He hung the phone up.

He laughs about it today, but he was alittle upset over that situation. Water under the bridge.

Good interview. Thanks for posting that. I actually talked to Methodman a couple of times when I lived in Staten Island and he was at the mall. You can't give anything that RZA said in that interview anything but respect.

I see no difference between animals and plants. No moral issue with it.

As for the health benefits, if meat is part of said meal, so be it, if not, very well. I am not picky about having a main course of animal, but it can be more filling than most veggie plates.

:LOL:, your correct, he is'nt a vegetarian anymore, he's a nonetarian, since the dead don't eat.


Anyways, I'm not a vegetarian, seriously considered it, but I compromised with myself, I only eat chicken as a meat source.
