why do countries carry nukes and rdy to use?

I have a question. For an inteligent/animal like life form would it be logical too not make these things and use them? Yet we still have them rdy to launch and use at the touch of a phone call. What would it mean too use one? Any good reason? What you get too blow up the other guy befor he get's too blow you up? Then what we all walk around in our radio active environment dieing as we search for food?

Some one care too explain what makes a China man different for a white North american too the black african? We all have blood, guts, brains, Soul * maybe not * .

First of all, can you please not use the term "China Man". Second of all, to answer your question, we have Nuclear Weaopns because we are human and humans have fears. For example, if your " sworn enemy" started carrying around a gun, would you honestly not carry one yourself as protection? No one actually WANTS to use it, but it is there to ENSURE that you won't be the only one #ed if he does use it. Revenge is human nature.

because the first nukes were made to win the war, power seeking people. now its a manner of those same people that wanted to win the war and were power greedy are the bullies of the world, so other countries want nukes in defense. they are trigger happy cause they dont have much to lose.

they are targets of us power nations, and they want reassurance we arent coming in.
why anyone would use them? nothing to lose i guess. as Kevin Costner said in open range "there are thing worse to a man then death"

It's all having to do with the MAD concept. The idea is that so long as we have nukes, the enemy won't start anything with us. And if they have nukes then we won't start anything with them.

Thus nukes = peace.

if thats the case then Iran and other countries the US doesnt want nuclear weapons for should shut up and mind its only business

since it would stop another war

The problem with Iran having nukes is who they would use them on. Iran wouldn't start anything with the US, which is good. However the equation doesn't nessesarily balance out seing as the primary Iranian target seems to be Isreal. Although it would most likely balance out if Isreal was fully nuclear also.

um sorry to tell you but isreal HAS gone nuclear and does currently have nuclear weapons, they made them and the US didnt care. its not breaking the law if your on the of the united states!

Iran having possed a number of diffrent biological weapons which it has not used nor has it started any conflict
so if they were going to use nukes if they get them then they would have used the bio weapons already

also with Iran haing nukes it would be a detturent for a US invasion just look at korea

I think we should learn how to share the world...

But everyone else feels more afraid.

sorry priest, wont happen. dont expect it anytime soon either. truth is it will take much war till we finally come to realization. probably a nuclear war or something but we will eventually

My mistake, I thought the success of the weapons program was unconfirmed.


However with Iran it is difficult to tell how they would use the weapons as they've specifically stated they would like to destroy Israel. A lot of it is a matter of whether or not Iran thinks Israel has the range to deliver much of their arsenal to Iranian soil, if not then the MAD concept doesn't apply. If I'm not mistaken, Iran is out of range of most of the Israeli arsenal.

I'm not with the goverment, and I do feel a lot safer knowing that my county's nuclear arsenal effectivly prevents WWIII from happening any time soon.

some people dont understand nuclear proliferation. since there are nukes everyone needs nukes now to be on equal playing field. if we do not then there will always be a bully on victim scenario being played out. wed like to apply a system to stop bullying like a school does (the UN) but it fails and i know it does in school, as does in real life.

if everyone has a weapon that can take another out, making any moves offensively is pretty stupid.

So simply I understand humans are doomed from the start. The quote " are Technology has surpassed our humanty". Its pretty simple I would understand that humans have not evolved from there animal type instinct. Typical childhood cartoon, "He's got a gun hold on let me get a bigger one ect...." That teaching applies too the world as it is today.

exactly, it has exceeded humanity because we were blind to see that knowledge was never science in the first place. we say we pursue knowledge but thats not the case, knowledge is our state of mind not our state of technology. we failed to realize this soon enough and doomed ourselves

I think you're misunderstanding what he's saying. He is clearly stating that we are all human no matter what race we belong to. As for the use of the term "China man" that's not a cut-down anymore than calling someone from England an "English man".

Why? To keep the peace or at least keep huge wars from starting.

Without nukes, The U.S. And Russia would have effed each other up long ago, or the U.S. and China ,or Pakistan and India.
Instead of massive conventional wars we have these puny things nowadays that are only facsimiles of war.
Think about it, Iraq how many have died a hundred thousand, give of take, in a few years? A real large scale conventional war that might be a week of fighting.

Nukes have probably saved the lives of hundreds of millions of people if not a few billion, while the threat of nuclear war is scary, I honestly don't think they will ever be used on a massive scale. Maybe a terrorist attack followed by a limited retalliation, but nothing that will end the world.

To answer your question simply put, nuclear weapons are more of a deterent than anything else. INSURANCE

Nuclear weapons were first created in this scenario "Get them before the enemy does and use them if necessary." Well, we all know where that led us.

Anyways, Nuclear weapons strike fear, and as long as there is fear, there will be reluctance to take certain actions against certain enemies, suffice to say that some non-nuclear powers have attacked nuclear powers, but it doesn't mean nukes will be used, there are many factors at play here. Cough*POLITICS*Cough

Nuclear weapons are a very touchy subject, and anyone who wields them have ALOT more problems than anyone who doesn't. Plus if you have nuclear weapons, that just gives the world a reason to WATCH you.

Nukes do not equal peace, they equal fear, which in turn can equal many things, one of which is total annihalation. I do not know how weapons of mass destruction equal peace, but I can understand the logic behind it.(A confusing statement, but what I mean is that weapons of mass destruction are just that, WEAPONS, I could understand how a powerful weapon might be used to ensure peace, but in the end, it's still a weapon, and will ultimately be used for war)
