I'm having a very hard time digesting the fodder that's been produced from both sides of the politcal fence in the last 6 years. Yeah, bashing Bush was fun for a while, but not EVERYTHING he does is bad. But the same applies to the cons out there...why are you being so sanctimonious when defending Bush? They act as if he can do no wrong. On the other foot we have the Libs with there complete intolerance for elbow grease and good old fashion American grit. While for the majority of the time I praise the actions of the American Civil Liberties Union, I must say they have gone too far this time. You would think that even the margianally intelligent people in this country would see this and stop playing with partisan politics. America needs to wake up! I will not sit around while cons try to turn this into God's country, nor will I sit around waiting for the Libs to turn us into a Communist government.

And Rush Limbaugh is an idiot.

Yeah, either way it wont be too nice of a place. Though "God Country" does sound kind of nice.
I personally have to say this before I go further to help those who read understand my point here a bit easier, but I am a Bush supporter and but I consider myself more of a moderate conservative. I try my best to call it as I see it, with the best facts I can provide to support my position. It doesnt always go like I want it to, but what does? To my point, I too am tired of partisan politics. Many people see on the ATS and PTS boards that people are so drawn into their side of the position, they wont see the other. By that I mean that no matter what facts are presented to them, they will not change their position. It kind of angers me to a point because those that do this are in fact hurting their own image(ie. appearing to others as closed minded, anti-american, anti-semetic, anti-arab ect.) This is the kind of thing that needs to stop, especially the name calling and labeling of the kind I previously listed. This is just bickering and doesnt further anyones argument, just shows peoples personal politics in the ugliest of ways.

Though I'm not a moderate, I can feel yall's frustration. I don't like Bush at all--but that is not to say I don't understand what he was trying to do with Iraq and for a time I hoped that it would work. Some of the things we say here may seem harsh and one sided, but it is up to moderates to participate with a lil more than---grrr! here they go again! yall are all washed..blah, blah! That's why I stay out of pts...blah, blah. I see that all the time. It would be nice if moderates would put up their opinions instead of jumping in to bash both sides and then writing the whole issue off, because whether we like what folk are saying these are still the issues that effect all of us.

just my 2-and-a half.
