I'm struggling to mix a good brown colour using oil paints. No matter what amount of blue, red and yellow I use I always end up with a dark disgusting looking colour. Sure I can buy a brown, but I just started experimenting with oil, so I need to get the hang of it anyway.

Could someone maybe point me in the direction of a good colour-mixing chart? Or maybe just some tips to create a wood-colour brown. (I need the brown for a small wood fishing boat...)

Thanks in advance.

Thanks. It helps a lot. I'm a bit heavy handed on the dark colours, which is apparently a mistake... Something that would be most helpful would be a colour chart visually showing which colours to use and the resulting colours...
