Hello all. I just got a new job away from investigation work and am finally back into computers from the AF. Here is my rant: why does Sun/Oracle and
I assume most every other major software manufacturer have such a pain in the hinds install and configuration? When you search thier website forums
they are very cryptic and aren't much help to the novice/intermediate user/admin. It have been told that this is because they want you (or your
company to spect $2500 for the classes required to understand the books or software). Wouldn't it be more fun to just make it easy so people bought
your stuff because it was easy and functional (I am not a big MS fan but the install is much easier that UNIX and Oracle I am finding). I have worked
with W2K server and Pro/XP on the Windows side and really had no install problems, the software was crap security-wise but it was at least easy to
install and configure. UNIX is a bear!!! Makes me want to :w: then
the stinking thing...lol. Wow, that felt pretty good, thanks for the rant.
