After a night of Successfully Meditating myself into a deep state, I became tired of Trying to OBE, as I do everynight. So I decided to attempt Lucid Dreams, though my mind was way to fatigued to concentrate for long, after I rolled over in the Fetal Position (My pick for Lucid Dreaming) And dozed off in a failed attempt. I woke up, still able to recall my dream of attempting to Lucid dream. I can never seem to get it right, to the point where it feels real, like the five seconds of the first time. Ever since then, I've been dreaming of Lucid Dreaming. Where I wouldn't really have any conscious control over myself or anything around me. And I would just watch myself have a Lucid Dream, not realizing that any of it isn't real. Then I'd wake up, realizing it wasn't real. But more to the point.
I always wake up 2 hours before I should, so I could try again, incase I failed and fell asleep. I read that after 5 hours of sleep, then attempting to Lucid Dream, or OBE, will have much better results. So I layed with my back against the bed, and my arms by my side, five inches or so seperated from my hips, and my feet slightly spread. (Like I would at night.) And meditate, and hopefully allow my body to fall asleep.

It's only during this time that I would start to feel like every joint and muscle Aches. If I were to get up, instead of Meditating, I wouldn't feel this way. But my fingers would be sore, and my back would ache, and It would be very uncomfortable, and I wouldn't think it would be anymore uncomfortable, until I always start to itch. Mostly on my legs, and on my chest. I don't know why, but it's only after I've already slept that I feel this way. I know it's not the position I sleep in, because I do the same thing at night, and I've gotten a soothing feeling, and a few times, I get the feeling that my hand is no longer on the bed. It's numb to the mattress that's beneath it so it feels like it's floating.

Does anyone have any idea, what could be causing this uncomfortable state? Even if it's not a state of mind, and a normal feeling that the body gets when it stays still after sleeping. Though I only feel it when I meditate on OBE. Any Ideas?

I experience similar things!
I lie on my back, which is my least fav position, and try to meditate to do an OBE.
I can just feel my back, neck and body getting sore. Sometimes, if I get into it for like an hour. I become like dead weight and can't move easily. I feel like a bag of sand!!
Do you really have to meditate on your back, I like sleeping on my side (fetal position) and stomach even, so wouldn't it be more beneficial to me because I can relax better that way?

I feel your pain, Kokasion!!!!

Do not focus upon your dreams and focus upon yourself within this realm and fight your way out of it on tyhis realm.Gain knowledge question what is before you at all times wjhat you see and hear.Slowly the other places will open up to you.Focus on your energies and try to sense everything in different ways.Search for the keys in the world to unlock the doors inside yourself.

We all have levels to attain towards our Alderman state.
In time humans will turn into great beings if we give oursleves a chance.

I do sleep on my side, when I actually sleep. But for some reason that's all I do, is fall asleep. When I do Trial and Error, since I haven't found the right way yet, I found that I'm able to become "Hypnotic" faster when I'm laying on my back. In the evening it doesn't bother me, it's just after I get a little shut eye when I feel the pains. Eventually, I fall asleep on my back, but in the middle of the night I roll over on my side. So I guess this is the most Natural Position for me.

Has anyone tried to OBE while sleeping on their stomach?

I guess I have actually become a bit Narcoleptic since I started this Spiritual Walk.
But I haven't thought about looking for an Entrance to the Astral Realm, while being initiated in Physical Wakeingfulnessishy, until you mentioned it. Thank you. I know I always believed that they intertwined, but I guess I was just looking for the easy way out.

I totally Agree with you, though people joke about Evolving past our Phsycial Bodies. I think this is a very possible outcome of self exploration, and pure enlightenment.

To astral project it doesn't matter how you are positioned. I have no trouble projecting while laying on my back, on my side, sitting upright, or even standing. If you can meditate wherever you are and block out everything around you, then you will have a much better chance of projecting no matter what position you are in. There are many so called experts who will tell you that you can only project in certain positions that you can only go places that your emotions take you. In other words take control of your own life and do it the way that you are most comfortable with, and let the rest of the people follow the crowd. BE AN INDIVIDUAL!
P.S. When you finally arrive look for the old man and the old women you may recognize them.

What you are trying to do is not really worth the consumption of energy it is using. Why not just meditate and stay in a peacfull state? The constant need to do more will only bring pain and will use up all of your chi.

If you insist on doing this, learn some Tai Chi and some Tsi Gun excersises, these are very good for balancing your chi and learning how to controll it.

Look up Paul Lam, he has a 24 forms dvd, but its easily downloadable on limewire, its under Tai Chi 24 forms CD 1-CD2. This will help.

Till then, stop trying so hard or you will never achieve it.

I have projected whilst sleeping on my stomach and back and even in the middle of a dream I dreamt I was went into a full on projection and I became consious and I woke up. It is not something that I choose, it happens quite naturally, usually whilst I am trying to drift off to sleep. I think the key is to keep your mind absolutely clear - no thoughts - and focus on your "being" or spirit within.

I have a sense of falling away, even on my stomach, the sensation is that of falling right through the bed into a different realm. It only lasts for a couple of minutes as by this stage I become totally concious and my mind takes over and I start to think "wow, check this out, now what can I see..." I have been been advised to try and keep the mind clear during the whole process and not let the mind invade as that is when it ends.

I hope this helps you.

Kind regards, Dobbie

P.S. All I want is a good nights sleep!!
