Got a new one for ya fellas!
Me and a friend of mine were pulled over yesterday for absolutely nothing. I wasnt speeding, swerving, or breaking any laws at all. I also happened
to have my friend (a black guy) with me. The cop started polite, and when I refused to allow him to search my car he got irate. He wouldnt even tell
me why he pulled me over. I told him if he had probable cause he didnt need my permission to search, and if he was asking for my permission to
ransack my belongings he was gonna need a warrant. I had nothing to hide so I stood fast for my rights. He then realized it was not my first rodeo
so he started to pester my friend. He immediatly changed his tone to this wanna-be gangsta accent, and kept calling him bro. My pal has a 13 year
old felony gun charge that he has to explain every time he encounters the law. He was 17! It wasnt really demeaning, but why the change in tone?
Why grill the guy about an old lifestyle? He never mentioned my assault charge, or any old offenses of mine.
Long story short, he pulled us from the car and asked us where we were going seperately to make sure we werent robbin banks or whatever. Then he
searched the hell out of my ride and gave some crap excuse about some guys fitting our description being out on the run. Why did he need 5 minutes to
think this up? Is it illegal for some honkey in the nice car to hang with a black dude he has known since high school?
How convenient that this incident happens only hours before I post on a board about racism in America. If we had been a little more outspoken about
this I am sure he would have found reason to arrest both of us. We have both delt with this so many times that you learn the right words and body
language to use to speed things along. It is a bad time to be a proud american, much less a proud black man. I was pushing it by denying his search,
even though it happened anyway.
Anyways, thats the end of storytime...
