John F. Kennedy vs. John F. Kerry?

John Kerry has often said that his favorite president was JFK and that he idolizes him. But what does that really mean? We all hear about what JFK stood for. He went against the CIA and the Federal Reserve for the American people. It took a lot of guts and it got him killed.

But how are they similar really? I started doing some research on it and was shocked to see some bizarre similarities.

They both have the same initials obviously (JFK)
They are both from Massachusetts
They are both Democrats
They are both Catholic
They both served in the Navy
They both became Senators from Massachusetts



Tell me if this story sounds familiar...

"In 1943, when his PT boat was rammed and sunk by a Japanese destroyer, Kennedy, despite grave injuries, led the survivors through perilous waters to safety."

Yep, same similar story there too. Almost textbook when you think about it. Have you noticed any other shocking similarities between the two? Please share them. I'll add more if I come across them.

The biggest irony I think being that John Kerry was a bonesmen and many JFK conspiracy theorists would swear the bonesmen killed him.

There are many similarities because thats the way John Kerry wants it. Kerry has been making calculated moves to mirror Kennedy since before he even got into politics. It's no coincidence that Kerry chose to be on the swift boats in Vietnam, which was the modern equivelent of JFK's PT boat in WWII.

Kerry has even been made fun of for purposely changing his voice to sound more like Kennedy when giving speeches. The guy really is a joke and a fraud, and I think we're all better off not having him in the White House.

However, viewed from today's perspective, politically I think Kennedy was a lot closer to being a Republican. Now whether this is because the democrat and Republican parties have both moved left from their positions in the early 1960's is open to debate.

Indeed, Kennedy was far more conservative than Kerry is today. If I had to pick a current democrat to compare Kennedy to, as far as politics go, it would probably be someone like Joe Lieberman. Kennedy was fairly strong when it came to national security.

Unfortunately, I don't think we got to see enough of Kennedy as President to truly gauge his greatness or lack thereof. I'm forced to roll my eyes when I hear or see people who say that Kennedy was our best president, or one of our best. But even without the assassination we may still have never know. Some say that JFK was in such bad shape health-wise, with his back and his disease, that he would have died in office at some point anyway. I know that he was being injected on a daily basis with a rediculous amount and type of drugs to keep him going- almost like a Hitler cocktail.

But with what we do know of Kennedy, I don't think John Kerry could ever carry his jockstrap. Kerry is too much of a flip-flopper and has no real moral convictions. And I'm not including all the bedroom stuff with Kennedy, I'm just talking about leadership and what he did in the Senate especially. That's where his true convictions were.

All that being said, Nixon is still my favorite president!
