The Clark Critique

Exclusive: In an excerpt from his new book, the ex-general argues that Bush is leading us astray in the war on terror

www.msnbc.com...

"I went back through the Pentagon in November 2001, and one of the senior military staff officers had time for a chat. Yes, we were still on track for going against Iraq, he said. But there was more. This was being discussed as part of a five-year campaign plan, he said, and there were a total of seven countries, beginning with Iraq, then Syria, Lebanon, Libya, Iran, Somalia, and Sudan. So, I thought, this is what they mean when they talk about draining the swamp. It was evidence of the Cold War approach: Terrorism must have a state sponsor, and it would be much more effective to attack a state than to chase after individuals, nebulous organizations, and shadowy associations."

It seems the plan seems to be falling apart at the seams. But will that be enough for the plan to be cancelled, or put on hold?

Jesus Christ MUA!!!

First prankster penguins, and NOW look at you.

It would be far preferable in terms of saving thousands of human lives, to just get the Bush/PNAC admin out of office today, and cancel all plans for unilateral military aggression.

With that not happening, it depends just how prepared the criminal gang is to steal office again if it comes to an election, and how gullible the American public is.

Or not-quite-defined events that are likely to occur between now and then, that get Bush and PNAC out and put a compromise in place, still leaving the mess that is Iraq for the US to pay for, but cancelling the military plans to create an American-dominated middle east.

Being it is from the same gentleman that said:

Bush may need to go....but with the sad state of affairs within the Democratic Party and its numerous presidential nominees......very sad. We get rid of one evil to only replace him with another.....?
America and its people deserve far better choices!

State sponsored terrorism is being looked at like its an accepted method of aggression. It is not and if that is what we are dealing with then I say drain the swamp, drain it dry. If a state wants war, let it declare it, mass its troops and go into battle. Otherwise, shut the hell up. I for one, do see the danger in the viper's nest we have in the middle east. Do we kill each individual snake as it crawls out and bites someone or do we roll up our sleeves, go in there and destroy the den? Some may say they have a right to be there and some may not. I really can't fault either opinion but I can have mine too. Don't want the US involved, stop launching attacks. We may be bleeding hearts who kiss the rest of the world's a$$ just to be included but smack us hard enough and we''ll f-up your world, man.
