It was the hype, I gotta admit. I got the movie for hubby, thinking he'd watch it and I would sit there and look at the TV, but after reading about it here, I got all excited!

Masterful indictment of Cheney-esque America, tactfully set in the UK as a buffer. (I posted my own send-up in the Comic Contest 2!!! thread here, bottom of pg 1).
The Wachowskis' Matrix 1 was of wider scope though, dealing with the global Illuminati, bigger than any national tyrant.
