You are right. In my opinion we have to deal with our enemies, even the enemy of our enemies! If we don't take them down they will take us down in the future! Like Islamic Republic of Iran

A note to the mods: Does any one of you speak or read what I presume to be Farsi?

There have been several instances of Farsi (sic) being used in this thread.
Personally, I object to this for the following reasons:

1. It has been cited on more than one occasion that this is a site that draws people from an international audience and that we should all be tolerant of mis-spellings in English. This is all well and good but Farsi is not what I expect to find in a post.

2. How do you know the "appropriateness" of the language used by the poster when it is in a language other than English?

3. If no one understands the meaning of the post other than the author and, in this case, aria, I would wonder if this is an example of "flaming" or provocation.

4. Is there any specific regulation on ATS/BTS requiring all posts to be in English? I believe that this is important. I would hope that aria would translate this post for the general membership. If it is not appropriate, I would hope that the poster (or aria) would submit a translation to the mods for analysis and determination of it's appropriateness.

There are several other Iranian members in this forum such as NR and Siroos who can speak Farsi or Persian. I did not know it was against the forum rules and if it is please do PM me and hence I can edit my post. The post I made has no provocative language in it and speaks nothing regarding any country other than Iran. It is not a personal attack on anyone either.

No need to u2u, I'll tell you here and now, it is not allowable to post in another language. The mods can't police it, and we don't take the word of people. People lie. Especially people who would do bad things. Not that you would, but, not that you would not.

As sep told you all before, there are several Iranians in this forum that can speak Farsi but don't use it because this forum has to be in English.

Sep did explain it to you why he sent that reply in Farsi.

The translation of the post for those who wants to know it:

Sep asked me when was the last time I visited Iran and I told him (in English) that I left Iran 2 years ago.

In his reply he said that we all know that the Islamic Republic of Iran will not stay longer in power than two a three years from now. He said that IRI can not develop a nuclear bomb because it will take at least 10 years for them to develop it. So don't worry about it.
He said also that I speak well English for a guy that has left Iran for 2 years!

That's all if Im not mistaken!

Thanks for the translation aria. That would be nice if Iran was no longer under the control of religious fundamentalists in a couple years. Hey, in a few years Bush will be gone too, maybe Iran and the US can eventually be closer. That would be cool. I think the internet is making it easier for common people to communicate and realize that we are not so different, not in ways that justify hate anyway.

You're welcome,

Please do not forget that Iranians do always love Americans, except some 2 a 3 % who are brainwashed.

Immediately after september 11th Iranians responded to that action and condemned the terrorist actions. No other moslim country did. Please ask Iranians who live nearby you!

About the internet you are correct. In the past 5 years the Iranians did use the internet to fight against the IRI and followed their real political leaders. Please look at the pictures below:

This young lady is doing exact what is prohibited to push the islamic rules (please note her hair and her clothes). The two ladies at left showing us the islamic dresscode:

According the Islamic rules Iranian women are not allowed to ski, but they do and push the islamic limits...

For boys and girls there is a bann on walking on streets with eachother unless they are close familly, but they seek eachother to make friendship...

Iranian youth are not allowed to wear modern clothes, but they do...

This kind of modern clothes are prohibited by the IRI, but almost all of the Iranian girls do wear them!

The IRI wants to see our women like this:

But they get this:

Long live freedom and democracy
God bless America
May god protect Iran and Iranians

I saw in the news about Iranian women playing golf and driving racing cars, etc. Not to mention hang gliding. Yeah the women in Iran are having more rights in a way. Not even the Ayatollahs cant stand against them.

Iran and the US were getting painfully close to reopening diplomatic relationship during the time of Khatami and Clinton. Even when President Bush came to power Khatami attempted to keep the little progress going. After the "axis of evil" speech, Khatami simply had to back off because of pressure by the hardliners. Some people don’t know that during the 2001 Operation "Enduring Freedom" Iranian and the United States special forces worked together in capturing the city of Herat. That is how close a relationship was being formed It looked at the time that perhaps reforms may work on Iran's part but it seems that the reformists haven’t achieved what they promised in the time frame that people expect from them.

Another revolution by Iranians is simply too much and will send Iran back a few decades economically. Hopefully after Khamenei dies, a more pragmatic, nationalist and level headed leader takes over, and allows for a referendum.

I just hope the hardline leadership on both sides lose their grip on power soon. I'm sick of war and hate, the world could be a great place, everywhere, but some people just aren't letting that happen. They stand to lose too much, I wish everybody could just have a simultaneous moment of awakening and realize it.

Yeah things did look up then, shame about now
Who remembers the Iran USA match in France 98? that was awesome i remember Clintons message to the Iranians before the match, and all the friendly atmosphere pre match, it was like they were all best mates.

America and Iran belong together i swear. Kill all the neocons!

America and Iran had at least good relationships for 38 years long. We did it before, we could do it again!
