Hugo Chavez pursues a nuclear energy program, and seeks help from countries such as Iran. This news has sparked debate in Washington, DC. After
hearing of Chavez's intentions, Brazil's Vice President responded by taking a stance distancing his country from Chavez.

Chavez's actions will add to the current friction between the United States of America and Venezuela as well as Iran. Though Chavez claims to be
pursuing a nuclear energy program only, it seems that the pursuit of nuclear weapons always follows. It is obvious that any country who wishes to stem
off foreign invasion or interference should attempt to
secretly acquire nuclear weapons. It remains to be seen if this is Chavez's
intention.
