Are you Canadian?

I'm Canadian. From Vancouver Island British Columbia.

I am also Canadian. I live in Ontario and have live there my whole life.

Born in Quebec City, rancourous in B.C., healed by Nova Scotia and tarred and feathered in Ontario.

I can think of numerous places I'd rather be: Spain, Norway, Denmark, Switzerland, Belize, Costa Rica, my home planet - on earth, noone is free.

Hybrids have no home.

I'm Canadian too ,obviously as it says Ontario beside this post.Nice to know there are others with similar interests,probably not in my little piece of Ontario though.

Born and raised in E-town Alberta, its pretty swell, theres a mall, and theres a pretty wicked avenue thats whyte, I like it up here at least.

I'm originally from Detroit -- Motown. Growing up in the Motor City, it was a regulalr ritual to drive over the Ambassador Bridge to visit Windsor, Leamington, Chatham and Sarnia. Most people in Detroit, and I would imagine the same goes for most border towns, know Canada quite well. Oh sure, they might still think of Canada as the "retarded giant at America's doorstep" but they think of it as a friendly giant.

At one point, the drinking age in Michigan was twenty-one (it's now 19) and that meant that we all would party in Windsor where the drinking age was, thankfully, lower. We'd all pack up and head South to Windsor. You heard right, south! It seems that Windsor is actually South of Detroit. Anyway, we would all head off to party in the Rose City, Windsor. Of course, on our return trip to Detroit, we would all stop at the duty-free stores and stock up on cheap booze. Those were the days.

Nevertheless, I think most Americans, especially those along the border, don't think of Canada as a foreign country. I think it is simply perceived as a close relative that is always worth visiting.

I moved to Canada some twenty odd years ago and, frankly, I have never looked back. Canada is a wonderful country with a strong social conscience, a diverse and well-integrated multi-cultural presence, and a social support network that, in spite of numerous short-comings, still provides a level of care and security for Canadians that Americans could only dream about -- that is, if they were fully informed about it. Don't get me wrong. I am an American and I certainly love the United States but I also love Canada. In my opinion, Canada simply has it's priorities in the right places -- primarily on it's people.

My son just recently came home from Vancouver and he says it is very beautiful up there.

Woo! Born and raised in the Toronto area, and I'm moving to Halifax next year.

My location says I'm from Kentucky. Anyway, there are a lot of Canadians here on ATS. Is it really legal to carry around a small amount of pot... I'm just joking. Is everyone that was born in Canada, actually posting from Canada?

I don't think that it is technically legal to walk around with small amounts of weed, but I have once been stopped by a cop (thinking I was a drug dealer), asking what I was doing (thinking I was selling I guess), I said "nothing". He flat out asked me if I was a drug dealer, I said "no". He asked if I had anything on me (being that I was high and around 17, I didn't want to lie and get in worse crap cause for some reason I was sure I was getting caught anyways) and said that I had a small about of weed on me. He gave me a lecture about how they were talking about possibly decriminalizing weed and that I may have been confused with the laws, so he told me that it was not legal, but he let me go. I don't know what the current laws are, but one things sure, Canadian cops are sure as hell nice if you are respectful.

I was watching the Simpsons, It was the episode when Mr. Burns terminates the health care plan for his workers. Then they go to Canada for some cheap medicine to smuggle back to America. Flanders is asked if he wants some weed. He said that it was leagle here. I guess me being me, I really do believe eerything on the Simpsons!

They were right about the Canadian basketball team though.
