November, 15. The website aljazeera.com now questions how the hotel bombings in Amman actually took place. They believe that bombs were actually hiden in a "false" ceiling, instead of carried out by the suicide bombing husband and wife. Also this article speaks on how a security cover would have been needed to place boms in the ceiling. They then point out that Israelis were evacuated shortly before the bombs exploded. Leaving an arab wedding group, Palistinian high ranking officials, and Chinese military personel.

Same day the bombings occurred, Reuters news agency said explosives were "placed in a false ceiling" of the Radisson hotel, hinting at the possibility that the attackers, now said to be Iraqis, would have required serious cover of the sort enjoyed by a state intelligence service working in tandem with Jordanian intelligence.

It’s been revealed that Jordanian security forces evacuated a number of Israelis from Radisson SAS hotel hours before the attack took place, apparently due to a specific security alert. They were escorted back to Israel. The Foreign Ministry asserted that no Israelis were injured in the attacks, although there is usually a number of Israeli businessman and tourists in Amman, including in the hotels hit Wednesday. Those who remained in the hotel were only Arabs who were attending a wedding party and some Palestinian high ranking officials as well as Chinese military personnel.

"In its latest statement, Al Qaeda said the bombings were carried out in response to 'the conspiracy against the Sunnis,' referring to the Muslim Arab group favored under Saddam Hussein's regime and now believed to form the core of the Iraqi insurgency." But this is against logic; the Sunnis form nearly 92% of the Jordanians, so attacking them to defend Iraq’s Sunnis is simply nonsensical.

Does any one have any comments on this, I would almost like to believe they are right. There are some good points made about the percent of sunis in Jordan. Why would they attack them. How did Israelis make it out of the hotels before hand?

In that case,

Jordanian Security would have known about security warnings

And you really believe, the Jordanians get wind of an attack, evacuate foreigners and let their own people die??

Israelis were escorted back to Israel by Jordanian security personnel only after the attacks had taken place (haaretz)

I did not say that I believed them. I just like to look at different views on things. Could the Jordanian government profited somehow. By these attacks taking place what now happens. The Jordanian government now becomes a somewhat ally in the fight against terrorism. I'm American, I like to say I'm conservative, but I also like to look at all views. Our media outlets are not always accurate too.

Do yourself a favor and visit aljazeera.net, not aljazeera.com. Even they are not perfect, but aljazeera.com is pure anti-west.

As riwka pointed out, the story about the israelis being forewarned and evacuated before the blast is bogus.

The silver lining in this cloud is that it turned the average Jordanian solidly against Zarqawi.

How true that is. I found it rather odd that aljazeera media was on the scene instantly almost like they knew the bombings were going to take place. I know that alone makes me think hard when considering anything they say or do.

I voted yes because it is beyond edit time but in the future would the author please use a spell checker. There are errors in the intro hiden is hidden and boms is bombs.

The Israeli newspaper Haaretz reported that Israelis staying at the Radisson had been evacuated before the attacks and escorted back home "apparently due to a specific security threat".

Amos N. Guiora, a former senior Israeli counterterrorism official, said in a phone interview with The Times that sources in Israel had also told him about the pre-attack evacuations.

Did you notice where that story linked too? It was The Tehran Times a state run newspaper that frankly is not fond israelis. They used Haaretz or I should say quoted Haaretz as the source and the original Haaretz story denied the allegations. My guess is Tehran did it on purpose, but I certainly could be wrong although I doubt it.
