Spetsnaz & Gurkas Training

Hi all,

I've been searching high and low for information on the way the way the selection process was handled for joining the Spetsnaz and Gurkas.

I've always wanted to know how they trained for selection and what there fitness routine's are on a weekly basis?

Any chance anyone can help?

Hmm, I believe that Bluecell has made a huge thread about world special forces, You should write down your question there... But if youc can't get a satisfactoring aswear from this thread i recommen that you should U2U to Bluecell...

If you're specifically talking about the selection/recruitment process for special forces, then goto the Australian Defence Force website and have a poke around. They have the selection process for the Special Forces there (or at least they did when I was boning up on my knowledge for the recruitment interview).

As you're probably aware, the Aussie Spec. Forces are on par with the British as the best in the world. The min. requirements for selection are intimidating to say the least. You need to be a mighty fit, mighty tough fella in order to survive. The thing that amazes me is how well these blokes manage to blend in to the general populace. You could walk past one on the street and think he's just another joe bloe.

I've read up on the SAS Training program and I think it's great.

I was interested in finding the programs used for training the Spetsnaz and Gurkas? Like pre-selection/training while in the unit.
